The Youth Section

The intention of the New Zealand Youth Section is to create a platform where young people from all over New Zealand can come together and connect over anthroposophy. What shape/form it will take is still to be determined, we’d love to hear from you if you want to connect and be a part of what we are co-creating. Please click on the link below, tell us a bit about yourself.

New Ground.

"New Ground" is the name of the founding festival for the Youth Section in New Zealand. From March 7th to 9th 2025, we will gather in Tauranga for a weekend of connection, learning, and fun in the spirit of anthroposophy.

The purpose of this festival is to launch a Youth Section in NZ, creating a space where young people can come together and explore the teachings of anthroposophy. The event starts on Friday evening and continues until Sunday lunch.

Your ticket includes food for the entire event, camping, and all all the exciting activities planned. We’d love to see you there! Please follow the link below to book your tickets.

*We don’t want money to be a barrier, so if money is a barrier for you please reach out via email and we’ll figure something out together. If you want to come to the event, we will find a way to get you here!

It’s always helpful to know who’s organising events, so heres a little something about ourselves, it’s lovely to meet you.

Who’s behind this initiative?

Nature is our greatest teacher, if only we give the space to listen. When I was introduced to biodynamics (a form of anthroposophical agriculture) back in 2016, it immediately landed deep within me - it made complete sense as I already knew everything is connected.

I have intimately investigated biodynamics on properties in the Bay of Plenty, Marlborough, and Central Otago, as well as spent time on the Biodynamic Farming and Gardening Association Council here in New Zealand. Recently, I have attended the 100 year anniversary celebrations at the Goetheanum.

I have a passion, a love, for sharing this knowledge, with a deep purpose of empowering people back to the land and themselves.

Currently co-creating with biodynamic, organic, regenerative, no-till, and natural principles on eight hectares in Waihi that is certified organic and includes a market garden, orchard, pastoral grazing, chickens and agroforestry, I also teach workshops and do consulting. I am an Eat NZ Kaitaki, as well as contributing a cosmic planting and gardening calendar to each issue of OrganicNZ magazine.

My favorite quote is:

“We are not human beings having a spiritual experience; rather, we are spiritual beings having a human experience.”

I see life as a great adventure, and I’m here for it! I’ve been involved in the world of anthroposophy since discovering it during my years studying in Dunedin in 2014. Since then, my life has taken many twists and turns, and I’ve tried to follow my instincts as best I can. I am currently growing a business with two good friends of mine; it’s called The Sauna Project. I love the adventure of business as it involves everything I love in life: creativity, discipline, adventure, potential, challenges, and more challenges! I believe the spiritual world is perpetually trying to express itself through us, so I take it as my challenge to allow what I deem to be good to come into expression.

Every year, The Sauna Project organizes a sauna festival called ‘Sauna Fest.’ My experience in that realm has inspired me to organize a festival in the spirit of anthroposophy. I believe there are many young people in NZ who have an interest in anthroposophy, so this is an opportunity for us to gather together, learn, and connect.
